Seller's Comments and Description:

Sea Wolf, a 1942 55' Monk design, produced as a Coast Guard Patrol vessel, for use in WWII, is the 3rd vessel in a line of rescued, previously abandoned, unique wood boats. About Us Hello, we call ourselves Bohemian Boats and it is our goal to rescue a few unique boats by rehoming them so that they can be restored or repurposed into something which upholds their rich heritage. We focus on boats which are rare and that present a unique opportunity. We have done a few boats now and we are willing to look at potential future projects. About You A qualified perspective buyer for this boat will have readily available, ample cash to make the purchase, as well as, make several right moves quickly. Typically, when considering undertaking of a vessel project such as this, doubling the purchase price will give you an estimated amount to have readily available. Financing is not available so this opportunity is limited to people that have adequate funds to work with. A good owner is also going to have a clear understanding of what a vintage boat is all about. Perhaps you will hire all of the work done or do some, or even all of the work yourself, but in any case, this is not a project for a novice. We are looking for a well-informed buyer that will make the right moves quickly so that this boat becomes a welcome addition to this beautiful area. You are prepared to come to the boat and make your own inspections. We are not able to provide a survey or anything other than general anecdotal information about this boat. Please keep in mind that this boat is priced more or less for its salvage value so things like shipping quotes, surveys, financing etc. are not available. You will need to do your own legwork. General information: -Moorage is not transferable and the boat will need to be moved in a reasonably short time frame. -Insurance is not transferable. -Washington title or Coast Guard registration for this boat will be a process involving more than just transferring names. You will do this at your expense. -This boat has not had recent routine inspections and maintenance. It should go straight to a dry-dock for cleaning, inspections, bottom paint etc. There are many good choices for local dry docks/full service shipyards and there are over 400 marinas in Puget Sound to choose from when the vessel is fully operational, licensed and insured. If you are looking for a boat to live on, please keep in mind that many of the area marinas do offer that as an option when you have the boat ready to go. About the boat We are doing what we can as quickly as we can to improve this boat, as well as our other project boats. It is no quick process to find the right new owner and the work must continue. As we make progress we may also adjust the price upward from time to time to help us with our ongoing expenses. To follow all of our current projects, you can find us on instagram at https://i.instagram.com/bohemian_boats_/ Or #bohemian boats About The Sale This boat is for sale by owner for cash or cash and trade. If the boat is advertised, it is still for sale. The current advertised price is the price we expect to sell it for. Specs: 1943 coast guard cruiser, one of 55 designed by Edwin Monk, Sr., Sea Wolf was built to patrol Puget Sound primarily for submarines and one of only a handful in existence today. At about 55' length overall and 16' beam, it is big enough to live on comfortably but small enough to cruise and get good moorage. Her Port Orford Cedar planked hull on white oak frames is solid and does not leak. In the 70's or so Sea Wolf was refitted as a charter yacht, cruising from Puget Sound to Alaska, but all of the original military equipment and lines remain for a great "steam-punk" look. Starting at the bow, there is a chain locker, then a porcelain head with porcelain sink and original door, accessible through the captain's berth, which will sleep two (that like each-other) comfortably, in addition to, two hang-up closets, 6 large drawers, many shelves for storage, a curved beam ceiling, ceiling hatch and 4 portal windows. Up 3 steps to the helm, which has a fold down map/charts desk, a sliding outside door on each side, large windshield and side-glass. Floor access hatches to engines and a scuttle to the fly-bridge and a curved beam ceiling. Down 3 steps to a large galley featuring the original diesel cook-stove, military issue GE fridge, double booth and large dining table, 4 portal windows and two fold out windows, curved beam ceiling, walk in pantry with a porcelain utility sink. Galley boasts stainless steel countertop and double basin sink, drawers, cabinets and under sink storage.
